Get fit for FREE – walks in Edinburgh
My top 5 favourite walks in Edinburgh are:
1. Arthurs Seat – there are loads of options here
– a flat circuit round Holyrood Park to feed the ducks
– the 3 different ascents up to Arthurs Seat
– The slightly steeper Crags walk
– Go rogue and do a combination of them all.
The view from the top is amazing
2.Calton Hill – accessible from Princes Street, a short 30 minute round trip with an amazing view over the Firth of Forth
Straddling a canon on Calton Hill (This is my cousin!)
The view from atop Calton Hill
3.The water of Leith and Dean Village walks – this can be started at multiple points along the way. My favourite start is by Haymarket then finishing in the heart of Stockbridge. Here you can stop for a nibble in Stockbridge market on a Sunday before walking home through Dean Village.

4.The Canal – this runs from the back of Fountainbridge out to Ratho and beyond, eventually making its way onto Glasgow Caledonian Canal. This can be done by bike if you want to do it in a day or by foot. My favourite stretch is out by Ratho to the EICC. Very peacful place to be.
5.Explore and find your own favourite
Every day I wander in Edinburgh I see or find something I didn’t see before
A Spring day in the Meadows
Side alley from Lauriston Place to the Grassmarket with the Castle peeking through
A little further down the alley
My big (little) sister at the West End entrance to Princes Street Gardens
sunset in the Meadows
Always most fun having a glass of prosecco or gin at the end of your walk 🙂
